Integrated Receiver Decoder
Telairity offers two different models of Integrated Receiver Decoder (IRD): the BE-IRD-5000 and the BE-IRD-5501. Both models are capable of receiving a full range of inputs, including satellite, cable, and terrestrial radio frequencies, together with either ASI or IP cable inputs. Both can generate a full range of outputs, including ASI, SDI, IP, composite, component, and HDMI. Of course, both are also guaranteed to interoperate flawlessly with all Telairity encoder models. However, the IRD-5501 has a wider feature set than the IRD-5000, with all tuner options included standard (vs. one tuner option), a DS-3 interface, and the ability to decode AAC audio (not just MPEG-1 Layer 2). It also has more connectors for ASI video and for audio I/O. The table below summarizes the major differences between the two units.
